Frequently asked questions
Which year do the calculators use?
The 2026–27 income year (1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027): the ATO resident rates with the 15% second bracket, the 12% super guarantee, the 2026–27 HELP thresholds and the National Minimum Wage from 1 July 2026. Each page states its year and the date it was last checked.
Are the results the same as the ATO's calculators?
They use the same published rates and should match for a single resident with a simple return. The ATO and Fair Work calculators remain the official tools; use them for anything you will rely on, and for situations these pages leave out (family offsets, the Medicare levy surcharge, award rates).
Why isn't there a calculator for my award or for state taxes?
The calculators cover rules that are national and published as a single figure or scale: income tax, GST, the National Minimum Wage, NES leave. Award rates, payroll tax and state duties differ by award or state, so they are not included; the pages say so and link to the official tools.
Is Hesapl free? Is anything I type stored?
Yes, and no. There is no account and nothing to pay. The numbers you type stay on your device and are not stored.
