How it's calculated

The Employment Act gives every covered employee paid annual leave once they have worked at least 3 months for the employer: 7 days in the first year of service, one more day for each further year, up to 14 days from the 8th year. For an incomplete year the entitlement is pro-rated by completed months.

Days for year n
= min(14, 7 + (n − 1))
Pro-rated
= days for the year × completed months / 12
